   East Anglia, Quiddenham

This was an exciting and different project! The proposal came from a group of nurses and carers who knew exactly what they wanted for their courtyard garden project.

A summerhouse was moved – plants removed and existing surfaces pressure cleaned. New play tiles were laid to increase the safe play area, and murals were painted on the block walling. At the same time, a second area was improved for parents and children to relax in. This area retained the existing flower beds but with new planters and hanging baskets, and they planned to add a barbecue.

All the work was carried out by the team of nurses and careers who had drummed up lots of help from local volunteers.

We were delighted to help them and were very impressed with the results – especially the mural painted by Neal Orton – truly Jurassic Park had arrived.

A wonderful effort that shows what self-help really can do.
