This was a ‘new build’
Hospice where the Quiet Garden had already been sponsored
and planned. The requirement here was to establish the
overall landscape with trees and shrubs and to create
a large grass area on the site.
After
delays in getting the paths put in by the builders –
the work required the movement of considerable volumes
of topsoil (organised by the Hospice) – planting
could begin. We provided seed for the grass area and
on an agreed basis, the money for all the plants and
the cost of labour to plant them.
The garden was designed and created
by Jackson’s Nurseries of Stoke-on-Trent and was
completed in June 2003.
The grass seed was kindly donated
by British Seed Houses Ltd.
