The Greenfingers Appeal is the charity of the gardening industry and is currently dedicated to the creation and improvement of the gardens at UK Children's Hospices.

Whilst generally the children are too ill to be actively involved, the grounds and gardens of a hospice play a vital role as a place of peace, solitude and calm, for parents, siblings, friends and relations. There are 42 Children's Hospices in the United Kingdom either running or being built. Each costs over £1.5 million a year to run and receives little government support. That's where we can and do, make a difference. The Hospices cannot afford to make gardens a priority for their precious funds. But, with your help, the Appeal can.

The Greenfingers Appeal really does make a difference - every garden is different, and every garden is special.

WEBBS RULE THE WAVES
The Webbs of Wychbold Garden Centre team was triumphant on Sunday (06 July 2008) at the fourth Greenfingers Dragon Boat Racing Day held at Wicksteed Park near Kettering. In a dramatic and close fought final, Webbs beat the crews from Ambius and Hozelock by a matter of a few seconds to snatch the title.
Greenfingers moves to HTA
The Greenfingers Appeal, the charity of the gardening industry dedicated to building gardens in children’s hospices, is to transfer its core operational, financial and communications functions to HTA from the beginning of 2008.  This is part of its plans to ensure the continued expansion of the charity.
Greenfingers tackles largest hospice garden yet

The Greenfingers Appeal, the charity of the garden industry, has begun work on the largest children's garden hospice garden project so far - at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice, Rotherham.  The full cost of creating the garden will be in the region of £100,000 and the Appeal is seeking sponsorship for specific elements of the design.

Royal recognition for latest garden
The latest Greenfingers Appeal Children's Hospice garden, at Helen and Douglas House, Oxford, received a Royal stamp of approval last week at an official opening ceremony by Her Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall. The garden was commissioned to celebrate 25 years of hospice care for children at Helen House, the world's first hospice dedicated to children not expected to live beyond 18 years old. It is also the 25th garden to be created by the Greenfingers Appeal, using funds raised by the UK gardening industry.
